Heidenheim Fans Troll Chelsea with ‘Brexit’ Banner Ahead of Conference League Clash

Heidenheim supporters brought humor and rivalry to the Voith-Arena on Thursday, taunting Chelsea with cheeky banners as the two sides faced off in the UEFA Conference League.

What Happened?

Chelsea Fc is on a top form under the leadership of Enzo Maresca. Thursday’s clash with Heidenheim was a big game for the blues as they faced a difficult Bundesliga team. As we see Chelsea Fc facing the stuborn Heidenhiem on the pitch, we could hear the home fans making their feelings clear and known in the stadium showing a witty political twist. While the match was going on, we could see a banner in the crowd that read:

“Let’s get Brexit done. Send Chelsea home tonight.”

Aside from that, we saw another creative display that features a depiction of the Heidenheim side coach Frank Schmidt wearing a crown alongside the phrase:

“God save the king.”

Looking at the positive side of all of this display and trolling, we could see how this added some flames in the clash, making the two in-form side giving their all in the conference league match between the two sides.

The Bigger Picture

As the match began, the blues entered the match showing some high level of flawless display making them a formidable opponent in the conference league. With the performance of the Blues, they broke some league record scoring 16 incredible goals in just three games. Why we commend the blues for their massive display in the league, not forgeting Heidenheim, the bundesliga side have recorded nine points to their name, making the fixture between both side a showdown of leaders.

Heidenheim has shone on the European stage which we all can agree base on their domestic form. So far in the bundesliga, the home team are currently sitting 15th  on the table despite being newcommers after playing 11 matches. If you’ve been following their league performance you can tell that the team has a fighting spirit and are ready to avoid relegation in their first top-flight season.

Did You Know?

So far as things are going, the blues side in the conference league has been a stark of contrast to their mix fortunes in the premiere league over recent seasons which you all will agree with me. However, for the main time, the bundesliga side have rise to European competition which is more like a fairy tale due to the fact that Heidenheim has just been promoted to the bundesliga last season.

What’s Next?

After getting the job done by beating Heidenheim 2:0, the blues will be back to business as their major focus is the premiere league. With them back to domestic duties, Chelsea will be hosting Aston Villa on Sunday in the Premiere League. As it stands currently, the blues are currently third on the table, nine point behind liverpool who are currently the leaders on the table. Winning their game against Aston Villa will help the blues close some gaps on the table with hope of getting back to their past glory.

Currently, for the Bundesliga side, their own case is a different story. Heidenheim are on the survival mode right now with aim to remain in the bundesliga without being religated back to second division. However, a strong Conference League campaign has provided a welcome distraction for Frank Schmidt’s side.

Key Takeaway:

As we watch the clash between Heidenheim and Chelsea, we saw some huge display of humor and passion from their fans. But Chelsea’s form in Europe has been nothing short of dominant.

The big question still remains, Can the German underdogs defy the odds, or will Chelsea maintain their perfect record?

Conclusion

The blues have gotten the job done in the conference league. Do you think they can trash Aston villa on sunday? Let’s hear your opinion in the comment section.
